It considers respect for the rule of law; property and individual freedoms are basic human rights that must be guaranteed by all authorities. The Chamber on principle opposes economic sanctions as instruments for local and international policy.

Throughout its 54 year history the Chamber has taken action at appropriate levels in the United Status to promote legitimate Venezuelan economic interests, in cases such as surtaxes on oil imports, exports within the GSP (General System of Preferences), reformulated gasoline, orimulsión, tuna, cement, and steel exports, among others.

The Chamber promotes the establishment of stable, predictable, equitable, and transparent rules for business through bilateral and multilateral agreements on trade and investment, based on credible and reliable reciprocal guarantees.

An institutionalized legal system is essential for business confidence. VenAmCham promotes business confidence through arbitration and conciliation that facilitate conflict resolution and diminish inefficiencies.

It generates objective and balanced information on economic and operating conditions in both nations in order to facilitate planning and evaluation of business decisions by member companies.
